The Catshack sends out a very special welcome to the latest new field to join the ever growing collection of super fields to paintball in Ontario. Welcome Horseshoe Valley Paintball!
Horseshoe Valley Paintball has been designed to be a premier park similar to some of the larger parks like Maribel, and Wasaga. They have opened with 6 fields plus a unique “speed ball†park they call the Shipping Yard (not on their web site yet). The park has been designed with two basic principles in mind.
1. Each field must be designed to be exclusive from all other fields.
2. All fields must be designed to be inclusive, providing an integrated battle field for large conflagration of hundreds to eventually thousands of players.
This will provide opportunities for small groups to play without interference
with other groups, and at anytime they could team up all the groups and have a large battle over the entire park.
Their objective with marketing is to drive everyone to the web site for news, events, planning, bookings for both the fields and accommodations at Carriage Ridge, and Horse Shoe Resort only 5 minutes from them.
The park is placed on 90 acres of a wide range of topography (up to 30-40 ft elevations), fields, and mature woodland. The first 6 fields have been developed with significant landscaping with deep 5-6’ trench systems designed after WW1 zig-zags all inter-connected. The town has 20’ two level towers, and buildings are both single and 2 story high. The Citadel has a dry mote running the star shaped perimeter with pill boxes at each apex of the star, also with retreat ramps running at the vertex of the star under the walls of the Citadel into
the fort area. The field again has a perimeter of trenches for the opposing team to start with many obstacles between the two.
Significant investment has gone into the park to date, and ultimately there are approximately 25 more fields to build.
They have been getting good critical feedback from seasoned and new players and basically they are telling Horseshoe that there is nothing like this around. They have other comments, like obstacle placement, paint quality, and other things they are addressing, but general comments are –
“Awesome, wow, what a work out, I love the trenches, the cannon is awesome, the road to Kandahar is the best, I love the Farm, the town is tight and ya have to watch your corners, if you can get into the towers, you can dominate the town, the trenches are 3D and there can be a man coming over the top and you can’t see him until it’s too late.â€
Another feedback comment
Hey Guys,
I thought I would put together a quicker email on some feed back on my first visit to your new field. I found your field designs to be well thought out and provide a challenging risk vs reward option in some of the key strategic positions. I enjoyed the Cannon field, farm, Road to Kandahar and Kandahar… I do think that your field has a lot of wonderful potential and with a little hard work can easily compete with the top rated paintball fields in Ontario. You have all the right elements and ingredients to make a fantastic paintball experience for new and regular players alike. I am looking forward to seeing your field grow and develop and wish you success in the long and hard road of paintball field ownership.â€
