No prizes, no great fan fare or celebrations…its just a simple ongoing contest which takes place every month on The Milsim Empire forum.

Now in my opinion, this contest is unlike any other, participants submit an image of their marker complete with all of its modifications. What makes this unique?, well in short some of these paintball markers are just plain incredible. In many cases the hardware is built from the ground up and is of such craftsmanship that each in its own right is more of a showpiece to perhaps mount on the wall as opposed to paintball with. Nope…these die hard Milsim enthusiasts still strap on their artwork and sling paint everywhere from DDay to Fulda Gap and 001bolt-actionpaintballmarkerrifleKeverywhere in between.

To these participants, simply to have their marker voted as the Milsim Empire Marker of the Month is in itself a great honor for them. So it should be as the people that frequent the forum, many of whom are either law enforcement or military, really know their markers and judge accordingly.

The Catshack posed a few questions to some of the Officers of The Milsim Empire to gain a better understanding of the contest itself and what makes it tick.

Here are some of their responses:

July of 2007 was the first IHOF voting that was held…I think?dsc05275

The average number of submissions each month is 5

I think the biggest reason it keeps going so well is that the membership has a desire for MilSim play which in turn drives them to make their markers look as real as possible. Not to mention that it is fun to have a 1 of a kind marker.

It is also great in that it helps the membership with ideas on how to go ahead with their own little mod project. We have some incredibly talented people who call MSEP home…pretty cool.

Airhogs Cheytac is probably the greatest Mod ever done, I mean its basically made from the ground up. Krukis sniper is right up there too. I don’t remember who’s idea it was, but probably a collective one. I think we have some of the best mods around featured here.

So if you like tinkering with your marker or have a marker you think has sufficient mods to rate, visit the Empire and be judged by your peers…or step in and say hello and get a few great ideas as to what you can do to your own marker to make it “one of a kind”
