It is always great to see paintball venues and the paintball
community step up and do something great for the general public especially at Christmas time. In the spirit of Christmas and giving, Flag Raiders Paintball hosted a great event focused on doing something good for under privileged kids in this region of Southern Ontario.
Taking place at the North Pole (Flag Raiders Paintball in Kitchener Ontario), a group of nasty right wing Rogue Elves opted to take Santa and his elves hostage and stop Christmas and all the holiday merriment from happening at all. Despite the best efforts of the EBI (Elven Bureau of Investigation) all talks to end the standoff failed miserably and the Elven SWAT Team were finally called upon to put an end to these nasty bad Elves and their uprising.
These evil little Elves clearly meant business and as battle broke out, the Elven SWAT Team took a vicious pounding with numerous casualties. These brave members of the Elven SWAT were driven repeatedly to their home base and insertion point and Santa himself had to call in air strike’s repeatedly to allow the members of SWAT time to regroup and try again to gain control of what was quickly becoming a very grave situation.
As lunch hour arrived a desperate Santa Claus finally resorted to using his short wave radio to call
in any and all surrounding reinforcements, thankfully members of The Free Time Fighters Paintball Team heeded the call and arrived just in the nick of time. From this point forward in this epic paintball game it would seem the tide was slowly turned and the evil Elves were then driven to their own home base in a wing of the Toyshop.
Speaking with field owner Joe Kimpson he mentions how quite often children in the 0-3 age group and the 14-16 age group are often overlooked for Christmas by various charities dedicated to seeing to it that Christmas reaches these under privileged homes. “Flag Raiders has focused on seeing to it that our efforts today will make sure these children in our community see the benefits of today’s charity event” Joe states. The Flag Raiders sponsored team “Task Force Raiders” volunteered their time to officiate the game and members of the field staff working the event also donated half their wages to the cause.
If that’s not enough, this second Annual event brought out twice the number of paintball enthusiasts over last years game. Commendations to all of you in the organized paintball community who brave weather and any other obstacles to come out in support of events such as this. The more we have reason to publicize the good that can be done by paintball, the more we strengthen our position that can be achieved together by a simple show of unity like this event provided.
Drum roll please…..the Toys for Tots event held Sunday November 29th, 2009 raised approximately $2000 to be used to provide some Christmas cheer to kids across this region of Ontario.
Congratulations to the Elven SWAT Team (Green Team) on their overall victory and for restoring order to the North Pole.
Special thanks to Tippmann and Kee Action Sports for their support of the event through game sponsorship.
