Here’s a young man with a good history in the speedball circuits here in Canada and abroad. Travis Kropf started playing paintball 12 years ago at a local field. The guy that owned the paintball facility also helped out around the Kropf family farm and invited Travis over. Travis didn’t start to play tournament paintball at least on a serious level until 2004. “I really enjoyed the tournaments and speedball aspect and decided to work hard at that” Travis explains.
Travis went on to tryout for and make the Toronto Mavericks. The team flew to Las Vegas to compete each month against top Pro teams including Dynasty and XSV to name only a couple. The Mavericks being a small team practiced hard each weekend. Mavericks then bought a CXBL spot and that year went to
Richmond Cup as well. The Mavericks achieved 4th at World cup in D3. Travis also played 7 man novice with Chop Shop and alongside them won some OPPL events. The following year Travis was exclusive to the Mavericks and they got 2nd at Richmond Cup not to mention competing in PSP and the NPPL Boston events.
After 2 seasons with the Mavericks, Travis then moved to Chop Shop to play D1 NPPL and also CXBL. Chop Shop made it to sunday 3 out of 4 NPPL events and also accomplished 3rd place in Canada at the Richmond Cup. Travis also competed in D2 PSP’s alongside Shockwave Canada and they placed 3rd at NEO and 4th at World Cup.
In 2007 he purchased 2 franchises when it was realized that a niche existed. Many local players wanted to get into the CXBL and XBall. They also were seeking a dedicated team with a dedicated owner who would work hard for them and give them the best practices and teaching that can be offered.
Today the team is well known as one competitive group that is tough to beat, looking over all the events this past year I am able to note numerous first place finishes.
This past year Travis played CXBL with Cambridge Raiders and once again made NAX Finals.” I also focused on coaching my RXL team to win the RXL championship spot and they earned an MXL spot for 2010. My cx4 Team also was a top team and won the final event of the year”, Travis states proudly.
In 2010 Travis will be playing with Cambridge Raiders in the CXBL as well as continue to own and coach Woodstock Defiance in MXL and coach Hespeler Hooligans in RXL and Hamilton Havoc in CX4.
