Dye Precision, make of Dye and Proto products has recently announced the Proto Primo Loader. What is the big deal you may ask? The Primo loader uses shelf technology in a non battery powered hopper. No batteries means less chance of breakdowns when you are getting down and dirty on the field.
Innovative Positive Feed Shelf provides a minimal friction, gravity feed solution allowing you to achieve high rates of fire while drastically reducing paint jams.
200 Round capacity, enlarged clear spring lid for easy loading and quick paint level checks.
The patent pending Proto Primo Loader is the first of it’s kind with a positive feed shelf designed to relieve pressure on paint reducing jams and increasing feed rate. Powered by minimal agitation of the gun. The Proto Primo Loader helps sort and funnel as you shoot for a consistent vertical feed. Comes with a clear spring lid for easy reload. The large opening works well with Proto Alpha Pods for the ultimate paint carrying system. Large capacity durable shell holds 200 paintballs and makes for ease of cleaning and maintenance.

Concerning your coverage of the Primo loader…
This is not the first of its kind. Maybe dye/proto has varied it just enough to get around any kind of intellectual property rights, but Tacamo has already done this a long time ago. I’m already using the Tacamo product at my field for my electronic rental markers.
I would consider the “revolutionary” and “first of it’s kind” claims to be utterly false. Its only fair that you give equal coverage to the Tacamo product, if not use this opportunity for an outright comparison. Primo is only claiming 8+ balls, but i consistently get 10+ from the Tacamo at my park using a Smart Parts Vibe marker. When the loader is low on ammo, the player sometimes needs to shake or tilt the hopper once or twice, but its a vast improvement over the “shake and bake” hoppers of the past.
I have seen a small backlash with similar feelings on several forums across the web since this loader was announced. I say do a comparison story and lets see what the chief differences, if any, between the two products are.
