30 Days of Night

When 30 days of darkness descended on this remote region of  Southern Ontario… fear gripped the residents of the tiny town called “Flagswipe Paintball” as dark clouds of evil incarnate gathered on the horizon.

True to the grisly horror film “30 Days of Night” Vampires and Humans clashed on the field at Flagswipe Paintball in London ON on Sunday February 28th. As the battle ensued the Vampire horde quickly swept onto the field hungry for blood and swiftly seized control of the high ground leaving the Humans at a distinct disadvantage.

So it began as precious blood spilled across the entirety of the almost 100 acres of battlefield that is Flagswipe Paintball. The Vampires clearly continued to keep the upper hand for almost half the day. Time and time again Humans desperately attempted to punch a hole in the enemy lines and drive a stake through the heart of the Vampire General.

Following the lunch hour the Humans finally rallied and the battle intensified as the Humans drove the Vampires back and seized the Church that the Vampires had designated as their headquarters. Not long after, the vengeful Vampires, frenzied for the taste of flesh swept back down the hill to retake their headquarters and send the Humans scattering for cover.

The battle continued with much of the same for the rest of the afternoon with both sides fighting hard to eliminate the other once and for all. Both sides scored points for flag pulls and objectives completed and heading into the final battle both The Catshack and Flagswipe management were sure the Vampires had enough points overall to retire with a victory. Surprisingly and as we all know, Humans being resourceful and crafty beings amazingly sufficiently recovered to rally their forces and score enough points to barely clinch a win over the day. Next years “30 Days of Night” should prove to be very interesting should this continue as an annual event.

Great weather, field staff and a well organized game combined was more than enough to be able to say this event was a huge success enjoyed by almost 250 paintball enthusiasts.
