The inaugural event of Operation Milsim’s Grand Opening was nothing short of epic. Field Owners Ian “Captain Sid” Myers and Jorj “White Slice” Andonian and staff rolled out the red carpet for the paintball community. June 5th and 6th, 2010 marked an historical occasion for Niagara region ballers and beyond as yet another soon to be very popular paintball destination opened its doors for the very first time.
The Catshack Reports first saw “The Field” upon our return from EMR’s Castle Conquest”. At the time staff were busy clearing and cleaning up a very spacious Quansit Hut on the premises. Since that time Ian and Jorj have spared no expense adding 3.5 acres of Tac Town and numerous buildings as well as developing other areas of the field on some 40 acres of property. In short it was nothing short of amazing to see the level of work, investment and dedication since last we laid eyes on the venue.
The Tac Town itself is very well laid out as is other areas of the field designed specifically with YOU the paintballer in mind. As seen from both our video and photos from the event some 120 members of the paintball community came out to experience it all first hand.
As opposed to a full fledged
Scenario Event, Ian and Jorj chose instead to run various games including capture the flag and other classics so that all in attendance could experience the venue from every angle and play all of the various areas of the developed field. Ian and Jorj have clearly invested a LOT of time and effort to create a great field for the region. These two entrepreneurs ran a quality event for their very first run and covered all the bases including even bringing in a mobile First Aid trailer and personnel just in case anyone got injured. Quality reffing staff provided by members of “The Eh Team Militia” further added to this event being such an overall success.
Halfway through the day the paintball community were then treated to a special performance by local St. Catharine’s band “Ontic” playing all kinds of Top 40 Metal and some of their own material. In short the band was very entertaining and only added to the days enjoyable atmosphere.
“The Field” is now open 7 days a week and The Catshack Reports further understands that field renovations will continue with numerous ongoing build projects. The Catshack foresees Operation Milsim’s “The Field” will undoubtedly provide all kinds of exciting paintball for many years to come.
