Promised Land III has been deemed another great success by game organizers and charity personnel for Cystic Fibrosis!
The day began with an intense fog and such humidity that attendees were all warned to stay as hydrated as possible. Following the standard initial game announcements the pre registration draw was held. One very lucky Mr Roefs took home a brand new Tippmann Phenom courtesy of Tippmann Sports LLC and the Glen Morris Mercenaries Paintball team. Immediately following the opening whistle went off and the game began with missions as set out well beforehand proceeding like clockwork.
Throughout the first half of the day the Slicker forces poured it on strong finding the key cards to knock the Corporation Jet out of the sky. Next the Slickers proceeded to dominate in retrieving much needed fuel cells. Mission after mission went off without a hitch until the Outkasts came back to secure the Howitzer for an entire hour. This mission seemed to be the battle that turned the tide. As the final battle arrived the difference between both the Slickers and Outkasts was very slight … the last battle would truly determine who saw victory over the day.
Much thanks to Zero Compromize acting as the Outkasts who took home the win (barely) as well as to Inops Suspicio our Slicker Troops this year, Inops brought it and the entire game was honestly so close!. Thanks to Shadow Squad / FTS / Carnivores acting as the Corporation Forces. Special thanks to Shadow Squad for helping with setup and to the Glen Morris Mercenaries and Sheldon of Young Guns providing our reffing staff all day long.
HUGE Thanks to Tippmann Sports LLC and The Glen Morris Mercenaries for the Tippmann Phenom given away as the pre reg prize … Much thanks to Kee Action Sports, Underground Productz, Dirt Paintball Apparel, The Catshack Reports, Sean Jean of NTensity Custom Paintball, Blood Brothers Paintball Supply, Flagswipe Paintball, Crowley Electric Supplies, paintballforces.ca and other local businesses for all of the raffle table donations (if I missed anyone my apologies, so many people to thank so much for all the generosity) and Cystic Fibrosis and Kinsmen volunteers for all the hard work and providing lunch to the masses. Special thanks to Flagswipe Paintball and staff for all the help and use of the venue to hold this game annually.
Drum roll please … today’s efforts brought out 200 paintball enthusiasts and raised another $7000 for Cystic Fibrosis research bringing the grand total over the past three years this game has been run to $25000 … everyone was a real winner today!
