TAC5 is the ultimate combination of all things tournament paintball. Reaching back into paintball’s colorful and successful past, melding it with aspects of paintball’s present and looking to the future, TAC5 has taken tournament paintball to a place where it belongs. Not purely ‘speedball’, not purely ‘woodsball’ or ‘scenario paintball’, TAC5 is paintball; the perfect blend of ALL things paintball into one exciting format that is both easy to understand yet challenging to play and fun to watch.
TAC5 was developed by players, industry leaders and former scenario tournament refs and staff.
The first event will be taking place on September 11th, 2010 at Defcon Paintball in Downsview Park, Toronto Ontario.
Pricing details have been released for the Tac5 Series for 2010: $50.00 / entry per player $50.00 / case per player Based on 8 players
# Teams will be allowed to have a maximum of 10 persons during a TAC5 event; 5 starting players, 2 alternate players, 1 Commander and up to 2 pit crew.
# Total game time: 15 minutes.
# Each team will have a designated Commander. The Commander’s role is to ensure any players re-inserting into the playing field are ready to enter at the appropriate time and are ultimately responsible for discussing and potential game play issues with the Ultimate referee. The Commander must sign in as Commander on arrival to the team box and may not be altered for that game. This position may be a playing or non-playing position as the team chooses.
# Each team will be allowed 5 starting players. These players will be designated by signing in as a starting player. Starting players must be ready to play and on the start line prior to the start horn sounding.
# Each team will be allowed up to 2 alternate players. These players will be ready to replace any starting player after the match has begun at the direction of the Team Commander. Alternate players must sign in as alternate players on arrival to the team box.
# Two flag stations will be located on the spectator side of the field, in each corner. This base will be a netted area for which flag carriers may enter to hang a flag. There will be a 6′ marking around each Flag station that will be considered ‘neutral ground’. This means that no player may shoot into or through the opposite team’s flag station and neutral ground.
# 2 Team boxes will be located on the opposite side to the flag stations. Teams will begin at the Team Box diagonal across the field from their Flag Station
# A ‘Flag hang’ is when a team successfully hangs one of their flags on their own flag station prior to time expiring and the player hanging the flag is found to be free of any paint marks. If the player hanging the flag is found to have been hit and marked by paint (either from a paintball, grenade or mine) the hang will not count, the flag dropped at the station and be considered ‘dead’.
