Exciting news from SpecOps as news is released that sees a LOT of activity from the once defunct SpecOps.

Brian MOATI Russell made it official as he announced last night via his website that SpecOps is officially reborn and many changes are in the works including a full revamping of areas of the website to include brand new sections for both PBLive and the Catshack Reports. As mentioned on MOATI’s corner the physical move is pretty much completed and the staff at SpecOps fully prepared to once again take any and all product orders from the paintball community.

News hit their website at the end of July that Brian’s new company Extreme Stitchworks was to be discontinued having purchased his first love, SpecOps, so it could be re opened once more. SpecOps is all set to build momentum back to its former glory with MOATI and his staff dedicated to once again providing quality products. That’s not all as Brian further mentions his intent to once again appear at events all over the US, create new and innovative products AND return to filming all those great videos as before.

The Catshack fired off a few questions of MOATI regarding this latest news

Catshack – What happened that saw Extreme Stitchworks closing and SpecOps re opening?

MOATI – At about the same time I was considering shutting down, Special Ops Paintball actually became for sale. I sought some last ditch financing that came through and worked out a deal. I purchased the website (and it’s related websites such as the forum), the name/brand, the sewing machinery, and certain inventory. I was then able to make a later deal to obtain the Razorback Paintball Tank.

Catshack – What can we expect from the new SpecOps?

MOATI – We want to bring back the best things from the old Spec Ops (community, cutting edge products, informative media, and to be a resource for players) and expand them to encompass initiatives designed to grow the sport. We will be media and information rich.

Will much of the products that used to be SpecOps be found once more?

MOATI – Some of the old products will become available again. In other cases, new versions or simply brand new items to meet new needs will be developed and produced. We’ve already got some great ideas that will become reality in the near future. Some of the most exciting news would be that we plan to return to the “Mods That Make Sense” approach to hard goods and for soft goods, watch for the long awaited return of OmniPat Camo.

Catshack – Any long range plans?

MOATI – Long range plans are still a little unsure so I don’t want to give too many details…but I’m looking at the possibility of doing some kind of “Really Cool” weekend

Catshack – Will there be a renewed Tippmann/SpecOps relationship?

MOATI – There are no immediate plans since Tippmann has made other arrangements since the original closure of Spec Ops. We will however be looking at some other potential distribution agreements.

Welcome Back SpecOps!

As MOATI himself put it:

The Phoenix Rises!

Extreme Stitchworks is dead…long live Special Ops Paintball!
