Congratulations to the Medonte N2 Factor MXL team, the recent Event 4 last weekend at Flag Raiders Paintball in Kitchener ON saw the crew achieve their dream of CXBL pro status. Speaking at length by phone with team member Brandon Armstrong, this is a goal a very long time in coming.

Team members Brandon alongside Andrew Thorn first played paintball competing in the ESPL in 2008, that team won their division that year. The following year saw team mate Grayden Guy join them and so began the formation of the N2 Factor team.

For the past two seasons N2 Factor has competed in the MXL Division of the Canadian XBall League and have gone undefeated. Last year two tie matches had them finish just shy of the first place trophy but the crew came together to insure this did not happen for the MXL 2011 series. Brandon mentions it was team discipline and order coupled with some great coaching provided by Ronnie Guy and team owner Wayne Chuck that brought them to where they all are today. Every Sunday saw N2 at practice for four to five hours at a time working on skills and drills or scrimmaging against each other or other teams.

The rest of the paintball season will see N2 preparing for their launch into the CXBL 2012 aside from returning to the 2011 World Cup in Florida to compete there. As Brandon puts it “World Cup is a vacation for us and a great bonding experience for the whole team”. The 12 man team includes not only Brandon Armstrong but Wesley Elliott, Shayne Salmon, Pat Hill, Kenji Goto, Jory Fine, Grayden Guy, Devin Crossman, Dayton Chuck, Cody Knight, Antanee Chuck and Andrew Thorne

Brandon foresees lots more practice and dedication as they prepare to compete against some of the solid teams in the CXBL. “The first year should be a great learning experience, our overall goal for now is to improve to the level of powerhouse crew Toronto Rage”.

MXL Event 4 saw a long journey finally realized for Medonte N2 Factor, working hard and playing against teams from across Ontario coupled with a fantastic record has propelled them to professional status. It should be very interesting to see how the team fares for the CXBL 2012 season.

Congratulations guys!
