The paintball community was out in full force Saturday June 23rd, 2012 for the historical first ever Viper Scenario event on Canadian soil.

With crystal clear skies and a relentless hot sun, Media Wars kicked off with Kerry “Viper” Rosenberry delivering pre game announcements and going over in detail all of the various aspects one comes to expect of a typical Viper game. As always slap sticks were in play aside from various missions throughout the day. Next Wolf of the Wolf’s Den got the mic to deliver a well worded speech to the over 600 players in attendance. Immediately following Mike Phillips, well known personality of TechPB took the stage to rattle his troops to prepare for battle. For this event, not only were Viper game officials present to referee, so to were the Discipline Lords and The Northern Gunmen, amounting to a well rounded crew to oversee the game all day long.

11am sharp signaled the game to commence. Almost instantly, hungry TechPB fans swept on to the field and quickly pushed the Wolf’s troops hard into a corner. As Wolf mentioned, General Mike’s use of RPG’s proved a powerful tool in taking parts of the field and putting a dent into his forces throughout the entirety. The battles were fierce and paint whistled through the air in some very heated exchanges. As the day wore on it was Mike’s tactics to try and keep the battle on the open field and cook Wolf’s troops in the dry heat. On more than one occasion Wolf’s people rallied and drove the opposition well back into the tree line. As Wolf so aptly put it “ lots of pushing back and forth, its been like a yo yo a lot of the day”

Couple of things of note with this event was a good showing of our American cousins including TDevil of the Psycho Clown Posse and Sonny Lopez of the LA Hitmen, Gino and Debbie Postorivo and Will Bourgault of Valken Sports, Weltman and elements of Damage Inc and others. Further still and a comment made to me that I had to agree with, were a healthy attendance of sister ballers, more women than ever were out playing a great day of paintball. It seems more and more vendors are appearing at Canadian big games and Canadian Carnage had a strong presence with everything from Empire, Tippmann, Valken, Wak’d Customs, SWAT Original Tactical Boots, Azodin, Paintball Weazels Laser Engraving, Underground Productz, AZTEK Products, Paintball HQ, Behind the Bunker, Pinnacle Paintball, Tier One Tactical, Event Souvenirs and Flagswipe Paintball.

Wow so many great teams were out including Citrus Connection, Devil Dogs, Glen Morris Mercenaries, ODST, War Hounds, Algonquin Irregulars, Velocity Vixens, Kingston SOG, OpFor, Team Wrath, A Team Assassins, SAS Canada, Danger Close, Steel City SWAT, OPEL Army, Sector 57 Spartans, BlackOps, Urban Conflict, Reaper Crew, S.O.C.A.T, Sudden Harm, FUBAR Pbl, Tactical Operations, The Corpse, Muskoka Bomb Squad, Paintball Weazels, C.H.A.O.S, EZ Creation, Bad Company, Anti-Revolution  and even elements of Damage Inc. and Nassagaweya Assault Unit.

According to sources, the final battle was EPIC, elements of Citrus Connection like many others were at this point in the day out of paint and made suicide runs on the slap sticks to help seal the victory for TechPB. Victory it was … something of a landslide victory went to the TechPB side with a sizable point spread of 500 points with final scores TechPB roughly 800 versus Wolf’s Den around 300. From the Citrus Connection Facebook page, TechPB XO Josh “Orange” Saumure mentioned “Citrus had another great showing out there, this time taking the “MOFO” Award (Most Formidable Opponent) handed out by Wolf, General of the opposing team. Ourselves and the Dogs were in it knee deep across the lines along with several other great teams like EZCreation, Bad Company, Anti-Revolution, Op For and many more. An extra thanks to the guys from Op For and the other local players with excellent knowledge of the field which gave us an edge out there”. As the dust settled, all the various teams and players in attendance will easily be able to return to daily routines with more than a few good war stories from the first successful Viper Scenario on Canadian soil.

Special thanks to Viper Scenarios, Underground Productz, The Northern Gunmen and Adrenaline Paintball for a great memorable day of paintball as The Catshack Reports continues our tour of 2012 to find some of the best games on the planet.

  1. Was a great game, and a great day I got a lot of great video (replay xd ftw!). If I had anything to be disappointed in, it was that the organizers did not switch the team bases halfway through the day. The numbers at the end would have been VERY different and less skewed.

  2. Oh, and one other thing. Those Refs! Give them a frikin medal! I can’t begin to say how ‘on the ball’ those guys and gals were. Best I’ve ever seen in a big game.

  3. Truly was a great game, kudos to all the staff that made it happen. I can truly say on behalf of nassagaweya assault unit we had a great time! Can’t wait for the next one.

  4. Would like to thank everyone for what was my best day playing on a personal level for me, broke a personal record in game play. Thanks To Underground Productz, Adrenaline Paintball, Northern Gunmen and many others for a great day, it was fun, no one got hurt and I meet some really super people. Thanks to all the ladies who’s posed for pics with me, Sarge and Erin Morin was great to meet you, gonna do my best to help you two out. Thanks to my Friend Tyler for the ride and Sudden Harm for letting me run with them. Finally thanks to Tomcat for his excellent coverage of this event, it was nice to finally meet you. If I have missed anyone, especially those who snapped pics of me in play, my thanks. :-)

  5. Next year we will bring the SAR12 sniper rifle with us! Going to be epic!
