Attending a CXBL event mirrors the PSP with all of the intense competition and carnival like atmosphere with teams and tents dotting the landscape in every direction. CXBL, in The Catshack’s opinion is one of the top speedball competitions in Canada that never disappoints with riveting paintball matches and in this case a few surprises.
FlagRaiders 26th edition of their Phoenix Project, “D-Day Viva La Resistance”, was nothing short of spectacular. What I love about the Raiders field is that owners Joe Kimpson and Todd Ancich and their great staff never rest and are always looking for ways to improve on what they have done in the past … they just keep raising the bar.Â
Canada and more specifically, Southern Ontario, has seen an unusually mild winter thus far. Mild temperatures here have us weathering more rain than snow to date. Not so Sunday March 4th, 2012 as temperatures dropped to well below zero with a light dusting of that white stuff. As a result conditions were vastly improved for the winter game that the Catshack marks as our inaugural outdoor big game to kick off the 2012 season. How so? … the ground hardened and certainly there was much less mud than what we would have had only a day or so ago.
Red Dawn has become more than just the kick-off event of the paintball season in Ontario – It’s become a sporting spectacle, with players often dressed in authentic Russian Winter camouflage and Rebel attire as they try to blend into the snow covered terrain. Fierce fire fights, Russian Para-drops, and the true grit of the American Rebels are always in great supply.
I have to open by saying that last Sunday was the BEST game of paintball I have played in the 3 years I’ve been regularly balling! T.A.C.T. headed out to Flag Raiders outdoor park to participate in the legendary PHOENIX PROJECT series (an epic day long scenario big game). This was Phoenix Project 25, Battle of Ages (Red/Taliban Rebels vs Blue/Americans) which featured top and favorite missions from past Phoenix Projects. This was T.A.C.T.’s second big game and second Phoenix Project. Arriving in the parking lot before any staff had even shown up at 05:50hrs, T.A.C.T. got out of their vehicles, stretched their legs and basked in the rolling fog smoothly floating along the grasslands! Shortly after this staff arrived and T.A.C.T. was authorized to enter the staging area!
This coming Sunday September 18th, 2011
This day long scenario game will include top missions from past Phoenix Projects including: Black Hawk Down, CTU, We were soldiers, Red Alert, Operation: Rogue Agent, The Last Stand, Invasion Begins, Battlefield Vietnam, World Domination, D-Day and more. The missions for Battle of Ages will be selected by Generals, staff and players. Don’t miss reliving some of your favorite battles and moments from the past 30 years of paintball history.
Perhaps one of the most infamous periods in history starts with June 6th, 1944 as the invasion of Normandy began and Allied troops stormed the beaches. June 6th is a day that people should stop and reflect on. June 6th has also become a day that many use to create historical re enactments so that we can always remember and perhaps teach the younger generations a thing or two about history.
ATTENTION all scenario ballers!!!
Please note the upcoming fundraiser for the Task Force Raiders. “Scenario Night with the TFR” will be held at Flag Raider’s Indoor Facility located at 259 Gage Ave. in Kitchener on Saturday, January 30, 2010 from 8:00pm-12:00 midnight.
