For fans of paintball and possibly (hopefully) Survivorman I have to say – do NOT miss next years D Day paintball scenario game in Wyandotte, Oklahoma – the largest paintball game in the world. I recently had the good fortune (in between editing the new Survivorman series for Discovery Channel – recording my new CD, launching my new knife line with Camillus, launching my new hand made axe with Wetterlings and writing my new book) of making my way down there with my son and his friend to take in 3 out of the 6 straight days of the game.
………….My next interviewee was Ghost, a Canadian – the leader of the 6th Airborne Division, and a 7 year D-Day veteran. As a member of the CEF senior staff, he is responsible for most of the planning and administrative work including recruiting, training, managing people, financing, strategizing, on-field leadership, and public affairs.
This month’s issue features details about a once in a lifetime chance for folks to take a flight aboard a WW II vintage C-47 Dakota transport, along with Mr. Jake McNiece, a WWII Veteran who served as the team leader for the 101st Airborne Divisions’ HQ demo team during D-Day. In addition to the flight folks will also receive a personally signed copy of Jake’s book, ‘The Filthy Thirteen,’ which some claim served in part as the basis for the movie ‘The Dirty Dozen.’
