The article entitled “A word from Andrew Van Der Plats, J-1 Allied Commander of the Commonwealth” contained a few errors that have since been brought to my attention.The error as published in the latest edition of X3 Paintball magazine cited Mr. Van Der Plats as the Commander for the Commonwealth Forces. In fact Andrew commands the fictitious OSS of the big game. Mr. Ray “Harly Hunk” Adams is the Commander of the Commonwealth and has been since 2005. As well there is not a German 4th ID but rather the Commonwealth served as training OPFOR for the American 4th ID.
I fully accept responsibility for the incorrect reporting. In future this journalist will go to even greater lengths than ever before to insure that the facts reported on are 100% correct. Many apologies to Ray and the many others of the DDay game for the gaffe as I do understand how important DDay is to those that love to attend each year.
X3 Paintball has been contacted and the necessary changes will be made in short order.
Journalism is no easy task, collating facts and keeping everything straight is much more difficult than one would think. It is my hope that people are able to see that The Catshack (and articles sent to other media sources) is here to provide the most positive views of paintball and shares an intense love for the game much the same as this readership. This in turn serves as the inspiration and primary reason for the writing and the reason why the Catshack came into being in the first place. Lesson learned.
