Dye Paintball Supplies LogoThe latest hopper addition to hit my gear bag is the Dye Rotor.  I have had and played with this hopper for a few months now and can say with confidence that this is one of the best hoppers I have used to date. When you open the box the Rotor ships in you will see the hopper in all of its glory along with a user manual and warranty card.

The material used to make the Rotor is a nylon based plastic that is similar to rotor1the old Viewloader Revy.  It is very durable and resistant to cracking and breaking.  The base color of the hopper is black with many color kits available for your liking.  I went with the gray accent color.

Now let us move on to the ease of use.  There is absolutely no programming needed by the user, none.  To turn it on you press the on/off button at the rear rotor2of the hopper and it springs to life.  The power button is powered by an LED light to let you know when it is on or off.  Under the hopper is the anti-jam trigger should you ever have the unfortunate experience of having a ball get stuck.  Simply pull the trigger and you are back in action.

rotor3The feed for the Rotor is a technically simple design, a direct gear drive.  Dye makes the claim of 50+ balls per second.  I am not sure this is attainable but I do know that the Rotor will feed a consistent 35 balls per second as tested on my Dangerous Power Rev-i.  This is more than enough for any tournament series rules.  The battery life on this hopper is outstanding.  I have just changed the batteries after two solid months of use, and not because I had too but because I wanted too.  You will not believe how long they last.

The Dye Rotor has quickly become my favorite hopper to use.  The battery life, the quick feed system, the tool less break down shell all add to one of the most solid hoppers available in the market today.  I have since recommended this to all of my team as well as friends at my local field.
