DMZ Paintball in Niagara has yet to disappoint and the Stargate themed benefit for Leukemia held Saturday August 29th, 2009 in memory of former owner Jerry Munsie was yet another epic paintball game that many will remember as one of the great games of 2009.
At the beginning of the day the Goa’uld Forces led by General Simon (of the Eh Team Militia) pounded the SG-1 Team repeatedly creating havoc amongst the troops. Following the lunch break the SG-1 team led by General Moose (of Team Opfor) regrouped and retaliated with some strikes that caused the Goa’uld to retreat in tatters. It was sometime after lunch that the Ori Team was introduced into the game led by Bad Revrend and The BlackOps team. The Ori could only be eliminated by a headshot and were able to reinsert randomly causing extensive damage to both the SG-1 and the Goa’uld Forces.
For the first leg of Bad Revrend’s “One Foot in Hell” tour, Revrend reports the game and his first date to be another game where all in attendance had a blast playing some paintball at a great paintball venue that is DMZ.
At the end of the day it was the Goa’uld Forces that emerged victorious overall. Some great prizes were distributed including a Grand Prize of a BT TM-7. The game itself raised tons of $$ with a final total of $1250 for Leukemia Research adding more monies raised overall for charities across Ontario and for that matter world wide. Personally I have seen more paintball charity games in 2009 than ever before. A fact that can no longer be ignored by the general public or governments anywhere…and best of all numerous great causes have benefited in a major way from the greatest game of them all…paintball! Much thanks to DMZ Paintball and staff, the game organizers and all of YOU…the paintball community for coming out and supporting the event.
