DSC_6565Soldier Gear Paintball in Barrie ON….that hidden gem! The Catshack had a blast  visiting the field to interact with Field manager Patti Young as well as staff and the owner Al Martin. Not to mention a fair number of avid paintball players out to support the Diabetes Charity at the field today.

When the Catshack got wind that Soldier Gear was hosting a charity event in support of yet another of the lesser funded charities today… well we just could not resist this opportunity to stop by the field to check it out and meet the many good people that are a part of yet another great paintball operation servicing this part of the Ontario region.

DSC_6516Soldier Gear as more of a Northern Ontario venue really is geared more to small community thus participants can enjoy more of a fun, safe family oriented atmosphere. Soldier Gear hosts such things as local hockey teams and public schools that make use of the facilities. Lets not forget they also play host to the CXBL Speedball League.

Soldier Gear spares no expense outfitting rental players with both Save Phace helmets and SP-1 markers. The safety speech delivered DSC_6564by manager Patti Young was excellent. A big part of today’s event surrounding the charity in support of finding the cure for “Diabetes”. Speaking with one of the organizers Toni Schofield, manager of the Cash Store in Angus, spoke of the Cash Store with over 450 locations across Canada who are diligently working on raising the target of 7.5 million dollars with the chain’s involvement. So today marked another part of that monumental effort as part of the thousands and thousands raised through paintball this year for different charities across North America and beyond.

Soldier Gear and the Diabetes fundraisers would also like to thank Napoleon Fireplaces and Grills for donating the use of 2 large BBQ’s for the day. For the video of the day see below.

Stay tuned, the Catshack Reports will be visiting this field again soon!
