Having received a Tippmann X7 Phenom last November 3rd, this weekend was the first opportunity to take this marker out and really put it through some paces on the battlefield.
Suffice it to say, myself and The Glen Morris Mercenaries have little to nothing to add that has not already been stated by the likes of The Tippinators, Hellions, Tri State Special Ops and Team Tippmann in Scotland.
In short the teams that held the prototypes and spoke of them following the press release spoke only truth. The marker is accurate, has little to no recoil and The Glen Morris Mercenaries love the Flex Valve Technology. The marker itself is super easy to break down and service for cleaning, the battery is super accessible and its also very easy to chronograph.
One thing we would like to point out to some of the skeptics who have
mentioned how leery they are about making the purchase of a marker like this due to it being 1st generation hardware. The teams that published their findings following the news announcement had the marker prototypes in their possession for a couple months. Simply put with their knowledgeable input the bugs were worked out beforehand if any such bugs even existed, otherwise I find it highly doubtful these reputable groups would have said anything. Not to mention that the release of the Phenom coincided with a couple of months of field tests courtesy of the teams involved.
Another comment I have noted involved disappointment with the marker coming out on the X7 platform. Personally we think remaining with the X7 platform to be very commendable. Lets be honest, yes the company could have designed an entirely new marker, but then each and every user would have had to go out and purchase however many after market modifications to add to it. By remaining with the X7 platform, operators can use their existing parts to give their marker their own personalized appearance without having to go out and drop another small fortune on parts. This marker was designed with YOU, the paintball player in mind.
For the price point, this marker is a great purchase and a remarkable piece of engineering, props to Tippmann for supplying the paintball community with another great product!
