Welcome Travis Lemanski who shares with the Catshack Reports the history and all the ins and outs that is LA Infamous

Team Infamous was born from a group of professional friends on a paintball team, that decided we wanted to compete in multiple paintball tournament formats. At that time we were contractually locked into only playing X-ball (as Miami Effect) with the hopes of some type of a TV deal. When we signed up for the NXL we really believed that that was the right thing to do (getting the sport of paintball on television). After a couple of seasons without TV or any recognition we wanted back into the NPPL. Infamous was born.

Our first event back in 7 man we won and it just felt right….to compete again for money on a center court stage. Yeah we weren’t on TV but we were in front of other paintball players and our fans. It was great to get some respect after years of practice. We had won many events before that and after that, but through our teams history, whatever the team name was Avalanche, Miami Effect, or Infamous, that was my favorite.

2009 wasnt as great of a season as we hoped. We made the final 4 in 2 out of the 4 NPPL events and we played on sunday at 2 of the 4 PSP events but didnt have any wins. Really in paintball its all about the wins…..Arsenal and Russians had those locked up this year.

14446_1240517780538_1457104408_652452_1581219_nInfamous competes in both the USPL (NPPL) & the PSP. We have players on both sides of the fence that prefer both leagues. Some guys like the uncapped semi auto and “no coaching” in the NPPL and others like the format of X-ball but regardless they are both professional run events and we are a professional paintball team so we will be competing at both of them.

Our impression of the USPL in its first year was a great one. To start a league from scratch in January and pull off amazing some amazing venues like Huntington Beach and the strip in Las Vegas was unheard of. Pev and Gio really stepped it up too to help out the league with some great events also.

Currently we have 9 on the full roster: Travis Lemanski, Rusty Glaze, Todd Martinez, Glenn Takemoto, Carl Markowski, Steven Lasher, Danny Tiljak, Alex Savino & Brian “semi retired” Fow :) and 2 exclusive to the NPPL: Devin Odell & Brett Cohen. Greg Pozzi is our coach.

Could we perhaps get a few lesser known facts regarding members of the Infamous roster such as what they do off the field…other interests etc?

“Rusty and Todd own a growing PB business in So Cal called Golden State sports, Tiljak has a pet alligator named “Norman”, Brett has his ownY-Vodka, Travis & LB were just in CK2, plus LB just had a baby boy, Devin likes to twitter on the can, Carl can play the guitar, Alex straightens his hair.”

Next year our goal is to work harder. We have the talent and the know how…we just need to work hard with the time we are given.

Our home field is Camp Pendleton in southern California. http://thepaintballpark.com/new/ If you guys have never been there, its amazing….Do yourself a favor and go check out the multiple fields they have on base.

Infamous would like to take time to thank our sponsors that make it possible for us to compete in the sport we love: Empire for THE best clothing, protective gear & goggles in the game, not to mention the prophecy loaders are unbelievable, nice work Simon!, RPS Evil paint (whoever came up with “shoot the best” said it right, it doesn’t get any better). Badlands Paintball for their friendship and awesome support thanks Trev, to Don & Ken at Sly Equipment for the amazing barrels and support, Pure Energy for tanks that just work, and last but not least, to Planet Eclipse (Jacko, Jack Ledz) for their continued support with absolutely amazing guns (EGO’s & GEO’s) as well the TOP tech support (Gerry, Walter & Crew) we could ask for.
