It is the 21st century, a time after war has made the Earth so polluted and congested, that much of the populace has been encouraged to migrate to “off world colonies.” No one today remembers why World War Terminus began, and no one really cares.
Little remains of the Eastern Seaboard – Miami, Cape Canaveral and a few other areas along the Florida Peninsula. On the West Coast Los Angeles and San 
Francisco remain. Those areas that do still exist are protected by the World Police Organization. Headquartered in Leningrad, each department has their own Bounty Hunter units, Blade Runners in California, and Glade Runners in Florida.
A few large corporations now control everything.
One such corporation has advanced android evolution to the ultimate phase — beings virtually identical to humans — known as replicants. These replicants are superior in strength and agility, and more than equal in intelligence to the engineers who created them.
They are perfectly constructed to perform arduous, subservient tasks for their human creators.
Banned on Earth, they are available only on the off-world colonies for work details in the hazardous exploration and colonization of other planets and as protectors of their owners.
Trouble is — the replicants look and act exactly like humans. A special police 
force known as Glade Runner Units, has been developed to track down any renegade replicants that have escaped, and are trying to pass for human beings, and live freely on Earth.
Your assignment is to find the replicants… then retire them.
