Has it not always been said “tis better to give than to receive”? This holiday season The Highland Skulls Paintball Team in Brooklyn NY are doing just that. Dressed in their bright green camouflage complete with their trademark cartoon skull emblazoned across the front of their jerseys…one might think Santa himself opted to modernize his elven helpers this year…and given this latest act of sheer generosity perhaps he has.
The Catshack Reports ran a story on this team in late November and recalls a
statement that “paintball” has made a serious positive impact in the lives of each member of the team. Today the team proved it having taken the initiative to work together with Toys-For-Tots. The team is handing out gifts to children at Wyckoff Hospital in Brooklyn, St Vincent’s in Staten Island and Beth Israel Medical Center in Manhattan.
When asked, Team Captain for the Highland Skulls said “playing paintball and meeting all these new people made us think. We realized how fortunate we were but had never realized it. Then we started thinking about the children that will be in Hospitals over Christmas and it was simple. We got to work and its happening! We’ve covered 3 Boroughs so far and our ultimate goal is to get gifts for all of the 5 Boroughs. If not this year then definitely next year. The more kids we can get to 
the better. We also feel others will see us and get motivated as well, this is a good thing.”
This year, instead of hearing “HO HO HO” in the brisk night air, several lucky kids will instead get to hear Santa call out “HIGHLAND HIGHLAND HIGHLAND”
For the Skulls it was a heart warming experience being able to see the smiles on kids faces. For them there are not enough words to express that feeling of giving.
