Team Supreme was formed in 2003 after the unification of two teams, team FAD and team Sweet Anarchy.

Consisting of very talented paintballers and true founders of the team such as Angel Moschopoulos, Jerry Giannopoulos and Team Captain Theodore Callitsis. Team FAD (Fast and Deadly) was a solid and winning team since 2001. In 2003 the team wanted to expand their roster and focus only on tournament paintball.

modThis was accomplished with the merge of the newly formed team Sweet Anarchy, which consisted of young players such as Nick Loulis and Dimitris Kyrtsos, who had undeveloped talent and lots of potential. After those internal changes were made to both teams, Team Supreme was formed.

In early 2006 the team acquired the core players of Team Immortals (Alex Robbs, George Daskalakis, Spiros Ladopoulos and Angel Platanias), shifting the roster from 5-man to a truly 7-man, enabling the team to compete with better efficiency at Greek and European events.

Our biggest achievements up till now was winning the 2008, 2007 and 2006 Hellenic Paintball Series, the 2005 Paintball Master Series, and placing second in division 2 at the final leg of the Centurio in 2006. We also competed in the 2007 and 2008 EPL Centurio series but unfortunately did not do very well due to some very controversial calls. In 2009 the team competed in two D2 Millennium events and placed 10th and 11th.

Paintball in Greece is growing as the years go by, nowadays, it is hard to count the number of teams. New teams keep forming. The only other team that has been around forever and competed at a higher level is SMK Goblins who basically started paintball in Greece. Also Dogs D’amour are a well known Greek based team who with the help of Davey Williamson and Glenn Takemoto won the Millennium D2 series in 2009.

In 2009, the team did not do as well as expected. We placed third in the Paintball Superleague, which is the Greek Xball light league. In the Millennium Series we finished 11th in Malaga due to controversial calls again and finished 10th in Bitburg. After the summer our roster was limited and did not allow us to compete in the next events.

Our roster is kind of IMG_56704complicated. We have a Greek squad, which is consisted of Angel Moschopoulos, Spiros Ladopoulos, Mike Ananidis, Kostas Makrakis, Panagiotis Kartsounis and captain Theodore Callitsis. Angel and Kostas are our front guys, Kostas plays the snake and Angel dominates on the dorito side. Mike and Spiros are both insert players and Theodore is our main corner guy. Then we have many players who are either studying abroad, working abroad or serving the country with army duties. All these players try to help the team as much as they possibly can by attending tournaments whenever their schedules let them do so. These players are Nick Loulis, Alex Robbs and Dimitris Kyrtsos who are true all around players. Then we have George Daskalakis, Jerry Giannopoulos and Angel Platanias who are all back players.

Many of our players have won MVP awards in the Greek tournament scene. Angel Moschopoulos was voted MVP of the most recent Greek tournament while Spiros and Alex won MVP of the year in 2007 and 2008 consecutively.

The main strength of our team is our experience compared to other Greek teams. We have attended more events than pretty much any other Greek team whether these are Greek or International. Also our aggressive style of play is what wins us tournaments since most Greek teams tend to sit in the back. Our biggest weakness is our roster. It changes every year and it is hard to maintain a winning streak when your star players either leave the country to get a degree or attend the Greek army.

2009 was more of a rebuilding year for us. We have acquired a new player, Panagiotis Kartsounis and we hope he can help us achieve our goals for 2010. In 2010, we want to compete in all Millennium events at the D2 level and do what was expected from us in 2009, which means advance to D1 next year. Team Supreme itself will not be competing in North America yet but some players are thinking of forming a squad with other Greek teams in order to compete at World Cup.

It is true that Greek paintball is not as advanced in comparison to other countries but it is getting there. Most teams just need to attend tournaments outside of Greece so that they can get a taste of where the rest of the world is compare to us and get more recognized themselves.
