Towel first put on the maroon and gold of 1 CAN PARA and the CEF in 2008. A
living legend of the Manitoba paintball scene, deeply involved in the growth of local scenario paintball, Towel could not pass up the chance to hit up Oklahoma D-Day when it was offered by fellow Winnipeger TAC ONE. A patriotic Canadian, Towel was quick to enlist with 1 CAN PARA and the CEF, and was instantly hooked by the intensity, organization, and aggression of the team. Now in his third year as 1 CAN PARA and CEF member, Towel has two D-Days (2008, 2009) under his belt. He also led the CEf contingent at the Tippman Challenge Central Canada (2009), and continuously represents 1 CAN PARA and the CEF at local scenario events across Central and Western Canada. An enthusiastic player, committed to excellence and team work, Towel has been recently appointed as a 1 CAN PARA Company Leader, a challenge he has embraced with his charateristic enthusiasm. Look for Towel and 1 CAN PARA this summer at Huntington Creek, DDAP Black Hawk Down, Living Legends III, and D-Day 2010.
Why 1 CAN PARA and the CEF? Towel chose the Canadians at OK DDay to help represent his country at the biggest game in the world. He takes great pride attending these games, more than 2000 km from his home, where he flied the red and white and maple leaf proudly. Says Towel, “It’s a chance to proclaim to all attendees of the games that CANADA IS IN THE HOUSE! Our Canadian players in these games are voracious fighters that move mountains to flip flags, and make their presence widely known at the games. Synonymous with the beach landings of 1944, which most of our relatives were a part of, this is a beautiful homage to the spirit and pride of Canada abroad.”
In case you hadn’t guessed it already, Towel lives and breathes paintball, and 1 CAN PARA. Few have invested the time and energy he has in building his teams, drilling, practicing, recruiting, and representing 1 CAN PARA and the CEF as Towel has. Well known on the Central Canada scenario circuit, Towel has devoted his boundless enthusiasm and energy to promoting his team, encouraging and developing new players, and mobilizing more and more Canadians to try their hand at the scenario circuit. He is also the creative force behind the flood of 1 CAN PARA recruiting videos and tribute videos that have so recently flooded the net, gracing the likes of the Jungle Magazine site, as well as the home page of D-Day Adventure Park. He is eager to grow scenario paintball in Central and Western Canada, and has helped to make 1 CAN PARA and the CEF a vehicle for this effort.
