The “Hurt Locker” event held at Windsor Extreme Paintball, April 3rd, 2010, was another event that all in attendance would have to agree was an awesome game hands down. Paintballers from across the province descended on the venue and geared up for what promised to be another exciting day of battle.
Speaking with one of the owners of Windsor Extreme, Lou Balogh, Windsor Extreme has filled a niche in the Windsor area for regional paintballers to come and enjoy their favorite sport. Housed in what was formerly a G.M Transmission Plant, the indoor recreational area provides some 500 000 square feet of paintball enjoyment… and that is just what everyone attending “Hurt Locker” did.
“Hurt Locker” began as all other games do with the “American Troops” taking their side to face off against the imminent threat of “The Militia”, much like the film. The first battle of the day served as an omen on how the rest of the day would play out. The American Forces rapidly deployed using immense firepower hitting mid field before punching a hole in the Militia defenses on the left flank. In the blink of an eye the round was over with the American Forces seizing all of their objectives to gain complete control of the field. Despite the Militias best efforts taking a few rounds to win back control of the field, the Americans dominated the field time and time again using the left flank to gain strategic advantage as seen in the Catshack video below.
Aside from area paintballers, some members of the great teams to descend on Windsor Extreme yesterday included “The Northern Gunmen, Bad Company, Team T.O.A.S, BlackOps, Adrenaline A Team and The Glen Morris Mercenaries.
What was fantastic about this event had to be the fact that the event itself saw www.ugptv.com on hand to provide a live broadcast throughout the entirety of the day, with show producer Johan “Hawk” Broersma and Tom “Tomcat” Cunningham of the Catshack Reports Paintball News on as guest commentator. If that wasn’t enough, Wolf of the Wolf’s Den appeared to make it a clean sweep, with all of Canada’s paintball media personalities on hand to provide coverage of the event. If some of the community weren’t aware of the new Windsor Extreme Paintball facility before …. we are confident the paintball community will know of it in short order.
On to the next one ….
