Another installment of the ever popular Conflict Columbia Series of big games at Soldiers of Fortune Paintball in Hamilton ON is soon upon us. For this one, ye olde Tomcat is switching up the camera for my Tippmann Phenom and leading Tippmann’s factory sponsored team “The Glen Morris Mercenaries” into battle … an entire team armed with Phenoms, this ought to be interesting me thinks!… For the opposing side, our apologies in advance for the inevitable rain of pain you are sure to endure.
Conflict Colombia V: Operation Saviour
June 1984
A massive government led counter insurgency offensive is crushed by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC).
FARC insurgents have continued to advance to the eastern edges of the Andes threatening the national capital, Bogota and other major cities and government strongholds. International observers are predicting the fall of the Colombian capital to rebel forces within the year.
President Umberto Sarras accepts responsibility for the government’s military defeats and resigns. Vice President Ernesto Caldron is sworn into the office of the Presidency and voted special powers by the Congress of Colombia. President Caldron initiates Operation Savior declaring martial law and mobilizing all available regular and reservist military forces in an effort to crush the FARC advance.
