From the very moment pro paintball player Ollie Lang (the Tony Hawk of paintball)  landed at Defcon Paintball in Toronto, ON it was all business.

Early morning, Saturday July 17th, 2010, some 30 area paintballers gathered in anticipation of meeting the man whose name has become synonymous with paintball. Ollie went right to work knowing full well that tons of instruction needed to be crammed into a single weekend.

Following an intense warm up, speedball enthusiasts from all over Ontario were subjected to drill after drill meant to improve everything from proper snap shooting, stance, sliding into bunkers and even finer details including how to hold your marker and working effectively behind different shaped bunkers.

Day Two continued with training and honing the skills taught from Day One. Additional drills included working up the field and bunkering an opponent. Amongst the trainees, some real talented up and coming players emerged and should they persevere may very well join the pros themselves someday.

As the end drew near Oliver and field owner Garner Lupo coordinated a mini tournament allowing players to put their newly learned skills to practical use. After wards speaking with Garner regarding the clinic, he mentioned “Defcon Paintball is all about bringing excitement and longevity to paintball in the region”. Hopefully more and more field owners have similar ideas that breath life into the game as Defcon has.

Needless to say those in attendance were not at all disappointed and several honestly stated that they felt their skill set somewhat improved having gone through the clinic.

Like many other pro paintball players The Catshack Reports has had the pleasure of interviewing, Ollie was nothing short of down to earth and very accommodating in person … a real class act that truly lends to the longevity of paintball. When Oliver advertises pro level instruction at his clinic, he means it!

Special thanks to field owner Garner Lupo and staff at Defcon Paintball as well as to Scott “Bad Revrend” Barnes and Underground Productz for their assistance on Day Two, yes the Catshack had some technical difficulties which Scott was able to assist with.
