S-Thunder rolls in like a hungry lion in search of their next meal. Hungry to take over the MilSim market with products that are both realistic and easy to use. With a vast line up of markers, mines and other goodies we shall see how the market responds to the latest entry into this game.
We here at the Catshack were able to get our hands on a nice array of products from S-Thunder including the SPM-100, land mines and some grenade launcher shells. I will first talk about the marker to wet your pallets.
The SPM-100 (Super Paintball Marker) is a .43 Caliber marker based on the look and feel of the Ar-15/M-16 used by the US Military and other fine armies across the globe. This marker is almost identical in weight and feel to the real thing, if not for the orange tip I would expect the police to be knocking on your door asking about your latest rifle. This is the first in a series of high performance markers to be introduced by S-Thunder with patent pending design that maximizes gas usage and a technology that controls the spin of the projectile as it leaves the barrel. So when I took this to my local field and put it through it’s rounds I noticed smiles on the faces of those that saw it. People were amazed that there was a cartridge popping out the side of the marker as I fired it. Yes, these markers take a cartridge that encompasses the paintball while in the magazine. When you pull the trigger the cartridge exits the right side of the marker just as the spent shells of a real firearm does.
To set up the marker you need to fill the magazine with the .43 caliber paintballs inside their aluminum shells. Slap the magazine into the marker and then unscrew the back cap, located in the butt stock. Once that is removed you then insert two 12 gram CO2 cartridges and replace the back cap. Pull the cocking rod, located at the base of the carry handle, and you are ready to rock and roll.
This is a very nice entry into the MilSim market with a nice weight and balance to it. The fact that everything is encased in the marker makes it nice to carry around on the field. The only issue I had with the marker was that on occasion a ball would roll out of the barrel if the marker was pointed down. A future edition with ball detents will correct this issue.

Now let us go on to the land mines, my favorite product from S-Thunder. These guys make all sorts of land mines, from power mines to water mines. We tried both in different forms and sizes and I must say the ease of use with these products is off the chart. For the larger mines (IGG-101Y & IGG-201B) it is almost idiot proof to load these up and deploy them for some surprise eliminations. You simply unscrew the top cap, insert either water or a powder depending on which you are using, insert a 12 gram CO2 cartridge and screw it back together. Once an unsuspecting foe steps on the actuator and takes that first step off BOOM, one less opponent across the field to eliminate. Another cool factor is you can reuse these things time and time and time again. They are very well built and work without issue. My local field is considering ordering a few of the water mines because they are clean use and simple to operate. I know on a hot day I would not mind being eliminated by stepping on a water land mine that soaks me down
Last, but not least was the airsoft grenades, they can also be used in paintball, to be tested. These thing go off with a resounding POP that will put fear into those who dare mount the opposing side of the field from you. With these grenades you can use everything from airsoft pellets, paintballs, pepper balls (not for recreation) powder balls or even powder. They shoot well over 50 yards from my experience with using these with .68 caliber paintballs. From my personal experience you would not use these to eliminate players, but tanks or other vehicles on the field are the intended target. I like these but keep in mind they will add an extra pound or two to your marker if you are not using an independent launcher device.
So my overall experience with the new S-Thunder products is a very positive one. I can honestly recommend you test out their products for your next MilSim outing or just to have some fun with your friends. With a strong starting line up of products it will be exciting to see what the people behind S-Thunder come up with next.
S-Thunder was formed by a group of industrial designers, engineers, manufacturers and marketers who are also war game hobbyists. During their years as players, they also became skilled in modifying and enhancing the performance and accuracy of war games equipment and accessories including paintball markers, airsoft and automatic electric guns.
S-Thunder started as an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for high end airsoft guns. After extensive experience in producing airsoft guns for well known brands and modifying paintball markers for their own use, S-Thunder’s engineering team realized that most war game equipment utilizes engineering and designs that were considered evolutionary years ago, but are no longer state of the art by today’s engineering standards and innovations.
With this knowledge, S-Thunder has developed all new designs, engineering and manufacturing methods that are now patent pending and will be applied to a new line of war game equipment. All S-Thunder products are engineered to outperform and outlast products currently available in the market.
The S-Thunder product line includes Paintball Markers, Gas Landmines, Gas Grenades, CO₂ Cylinders and Accessories, and other Parts and Accessories. S-Thunder’s products are best suited for professional war gamers and military / tactical / training, riot control and entertainment production.
S-Thunder is continuously developing new products to help enhance the war gamers’ experience to a new untouched level of satisfaction.
