From the onset of first hearing of an non paintball event that saw a paintball team openly participating, the Catshack vowed not to miss the 2nd Annual Lancaster Plane Pull for the United Way. Saturday October 23rd, 2010 once again saw the 101st BT Rangers Paintball Team out to defend last year’s title as the winners of this event.

Taking place at Hamilton’s Warplane Heritage Museum the boys assembled and prepared once again to haul the tonnage of a Lancaster across the pavement in the fastest time possible. If you’ve never had opportunity to stop by the Warplane Heritage Museum located right next to the Hamilton Airport why not spare an afternoon as the venue has plenty of real interest to look at and a variety of activities to enjoy daily.

As the hour arrived several members of the 101st BT Rangers grabbed hold of the rope and hauled the aircraft as fast as they could. Each participating team was given two attempts with the fastest time recorded. The team had stiff competition this year going up against the likes of the Hamilton Wentworth Detention Center staff not to mention Redeemer College, Catholic Youth Organization and a team that called themselves “Feel the Heat”.

Out of the five participating teams the 101st BT Rangers, winners of last years event fell short with a second place finish. Not for one second did this dampen their spirits as they were quick to throw it down for next years challenge. In short the Rangers are challenging all the other paintball teams in the community to step up to the plate and come out and pull the plane and compete against them next year.

At the end of the day approximately 5000 dollars was raised for the United Way of Hamilton, everyone walked away a winner!
