The Hurricane V2.1 feed system is twisting into the country, riding on a wave of twirling air at a pace you would not to face. The new feed is designed for the Dye Rotor currently and comes in a soft and a hard version with a choice of five vibrant colors, well one is black so that is not so vibrant.

Packaging:

This is simple, with nothing more than a clear plastic zip lock baggie to deal with. They place this in an envelope and shoot it on off to you the consumer. With no effort at all you have your speedfeed within your hands ready to install on your Rotor.

First Impressions:

I was glad these come in a variety of colors as it seems there are a lot of fashion conscious players in this sport of ours. The black rubber based feed material is nice with the color combination rings received with the sample.

Performance:

This is a simple product to test. First you can give it the shake test after you mount it on your marker. What is the shake test you might ask? This is something everyone seems to want to see after they install a speedfeed system on their hoppers. You simply load some paintballs into the hopper, turn it upside down and shake, shake, shake. Now a few balls did escape from the interior of the hopper during this test but nothing that would cause any alarm. It is normal to lose a ball or two when performing this type of test. Loading of the paintballs from your pod to inside your hopper is quick and easy as the fingers allow you to drop them in with no effort at all.

Installation:

To install this product you must take the top portion of your Rotor apart from the lower section. Take out the screws that hold your lid and upper color insert to the top section of your hopper. With a punch I pushed the lid retention pin halfway out and then pulled the stock Dye lid from the hopper. You then want to take the rubber feed gate and place it over the nodules on the hopper, then place the retention ring on top of that. Put the hopper back together in reverse order and you are ready to use.

Other:

I like the simple yet effective coverage area provided by this feed system. The addition of colored retention rings to choose from is a plus as I stated above, paintballers like to color coordinate their gear. This is currently only available for the Rotor, hopefully it will soon be available for other loaders as I think this product will be a proven item over the long run for those of you who like to use the speedfeed systems as opposed to a lid.

What players are saying:

Been using the hurricane since June and love it.  Simple design, minimal profile and negligible weight!  Feeding balls is easy and ball retention when sliding or diving is great! Definitely give ‘em a try! “Manuel Arboleda Jr

“Superb bit of kit. Used it for the first time at a weekend event in the UK. My Dye speed-feed was sagging and spotted this on a trade stand. Took a few games for the opening to loosen a little but once it did it was fantastic. Throwing myself around the snake and field I didn’t lose a ball.” ~ Matt Langston Team Chimera

Manufacturer Specs:

Does not wear
Very high mechanical loads
Highly elastic
Resistant to oils, greases, and fuels
Weather resistant
Temperature resistant
Does not sag

Now a review from Manny Arboleda of the Brooklyn KO’s

I have been using the hurricane speedfeed since June and a very happy with its performance.  The hurricane speedfeed sits inside the rotor, not on top like other speedfeeds.  It consists of 2 pieces: the actual speedfeed which is made of a rubber compound and a stiff plastic reinforcement.  The plastic reinforcement goes on top of the speedfeed, and this is what prevents the paint from spilling out when diving or sliding.

The speedfeed is very pliable, making loading a breeze.  It does take a few loads to “break-in” the speedfeed, but once it is “broken-in” it is fantastic.  Now, being so pliable will lead one to believe that ball retention would be subpar, I mean if its easy going in what is stopping it from coming out?  The answer to this is quite simple, the plastic reinforcer.  The “backbone” as I call it provides the support needed to keep the paintballs in.  It prevents the speedfeed from spreading outward, keeping all paint inside your loader.  So far, I am not experiencing any sagging or drooping, the elastomer retains its shape very well.  One of the principal causes for the “saggy” condition is not loading but rather gravity.  Gravity is always pulling down on everything and your speedfeed is no exception, but the hurricane does a good job of breaking the basic rules of physics.  How is that possible?  Easy . . . mass.  Since the hurricane is so light and doesn’t have much mass, gravity has less of an effect on it, causing less saggy than other speedfeeds.  I know this is a little too “scientific” for a paintball players review, but I like to delve into what I am talking/writing about.

I have nothing but good things to say about the hurricane speedfeed.  I have used many speedfeeds from all the companies out there and can honestly say that the hurricane seems to be the clear winner over all of them.”

This product is awesome! i’ve had mine for about a year now, still the same as it was the day i got it, very little wear. the only wear i have now is the rubber has stretched a little, so it makes it a little difficult to put the product back in place if u take it out..
