Sheriff Eben Oleson: All right, time to talk. Who are you here with? Who are you here with?
[the Stranger whimpers in pain]
Sheriff Eben Oleson: Who did that to Gus?
The Stranger: You’re a dead man.
Sheriff Eben Oleson: Where are they?
The Stranger: [while foaming at the mouth] I don’t talk to dead men. I don’t talk to dead men!
Sheriff Eben Oleson: Well, if I’m dead no one lets you loose from here.
The Stranger: You’re all dead!

Quote from 30 Days of Night

February 2010, the Human settlement barely survived the vicious onslaught at the hands of a pack of blood thirsty Vampires. Since that time the population buried their dead and spent a year to prepare to insure that such a terrible part of history would never again repeat itself. So it began Sunday February 20th, 2011 as once again a legion of hunger crazed Vampires descended on the tiny settlement of Flagswipe Paintball inhabited by well armed Humans as 30 Days of Night began anew.

The Humans familiar with their foe were swift to launch a major offensive. Scores of Human soldiers swept up the ridge line and across into the Tac Town seemingly unopposed. A few Vampires retaliated with a brutal attack to the flank but the Humans were more than prepared this year and quickly thwarted their attackers maneuver. Soon it was apparent that the hunters had become the hunted. The Human population promptly seized control of key areas of the field and proceeded to dominate mission after mission allowing the Vampires little to no room to breath. During some particularly harrowing battles the Vampires were literally over run straight through to their insertion point.

As the afternoon wore on, the Vampires with their backs to the wall finally rallied, dismantling the Human defenses and exacting a certain kind of  vengeance on the Human base that bore very few survivors. Battle after battle, clash after clash, it was soon apparent that it was to little to late, and the Vampires revenge was more an act of futility as the Humans brought in reinforcements to retake their base and drive the undead horde back up the hillside.

Quality teams from across Ontario were in attendance to include Zero Compromize, Task Force Raiders, Shadow Squad, Aces Wild, Fire at Will, Weazel Army and elements of SAS Paintball that helped top up attendance to 175 players for the day. Fantastic game officiating was provided by The Glen Morris Mercenaries alongside Flagswipe Staff. Dirt Apparel was also on hand to provide the masses with some brand name merchandise. As always Flagswipe distributed hundreds of dollars worth of prizes at the end of the day.

As the dust settled and the dead were carried from the field, Humanity once again emerged victorious with a score of 7300 versus the Vampires 6800 point score. It should be interesting to see how 30 Days of Night III will play out next year.

The next big event on the Flagswipe itinerary will see a “Trailer Park Boys” Scenario game, May 8, 2010 at the outdoor field in Putnam, ON. For more on Flagswipe Paintball and events and activities please visit www.flagswipepaintball.com
