The Catshack Reports dodged bullets all weekend long! Seems Mother Nature blessed our journeys but apparently misinformed the weather services and told them there would be rain, rain and more rain. Stop listening to the weather services as there was not a single drop of rain and the cat cameras were rolling all weekend long. If you weren’t there on account of a poor weather broadcast you missed out on some awesome paintball! The Catshack Reports Paintball News was on location at Wasaga Beach Paintball to bear first hand witness to the very first players ever to hit Wasaga’s brand new Tippmann Assault Field. This coupled with a celebration of 20 years of being in business made this trip a very special one.

I can remember years ago when first emerging from outlaw ball on to the organized side of the world of paintball and attending an Operation Halo event at Wasaga. The big games hosted there annually are always some of the most memorable games and ones where I have personally had some epic moments on the paintball field. Now the field plays host to the biggest annual games in the country hands down.

As a special touch the event was billed as the prequel to the upcoming Alien Aggression II game. General for the Human side, none other than Wolf of the Wolf’s Den appeared alongside Alien General yours truly, Tom “Tomcat” Cunningham, Editor and Chief of the Catshack Reports. As a surprise to the crowd of 300 participants both Generals dropped out of the skies courtesy of a very skilled helicopter pilot. We traveled by air clear down the shore line of Wasaga Beach before heading a short distance inland to buzz over the field and land on a very tight helipad. Immediately following both Generals greeted and addressed the crowd rallying the call to arms for the upcoming conflict on August 18th.

Another great addition as always is the appearance of Tippmann direct from Fort Wayne, Indiana. Tippmann representative Nic Meyer provided numerous players the opportunity to try out the various markers in the Tippmann line up. Spending time in the Tippmann tent, the new Tippmann Crossover was definitely a hit with the masses. Further still the new Tippmann sponsored Assault Field is top notch, the features which will serve as the Human base of operations for Alien Aggression II are out of this world. Everything from super towers to a make shift helicopter fashioned out of a bus …. makes Wasaga Beach a world class paintball facility.

Following some celebratory cake and ice cream in honor of Wasaga’s 20th birthday … it was game on! Those in attendance took turns attacking and defending the new Human HQ on the Tippmann field. For those of us that are Alien’s this year … attacking the Human Base will be a tough battle for sure….. but it will be glorious!
