The Bob Gurnsey Paintball Scholarship Fund is very pleased to announce a major expansion of the program into Canada. From its inception, writers for The Catshack Reports Paintball News, advocates for paintball saw the fund as so much more than just a very worthwhile endeavor.
“Over the years I have examined countless ways to try and legitimize paintball as more than just a recreational hobby” stated Tom Tomcat Cunningham, Editor and Chief for The Catshack Reports ” seeing the Bob Gurnsey Paintball Scholarship Fund as not only a great way to support youth and education, but introduce paintball in a positive way to the school system is yet another great angle” Tom went on to mention. The scholarship committee has appointed both Tom as well as Kasra “Kaz” Tanha of Visual Reviews to oversee the Canadian aspect of the program and assist with its implementation.
“We are very pleased to see the program make its way through a very successful first year here in the US” said Jim Lively, Executive Director of the Scholarship Fund. Its introduction into Canada is already off the ground with generous donations from teams as well as the first Canadian scholarship courtesy of Wasaga Beach Paintball. “It is my hope we continue to build momentum for the program here” Tom stated “we are extending opportunities for donations not only to manufacturers and distributors but to the entire paintball community as well. If every member of every Canadian team were to donate a minimum of a single loonie or a toonie, it would add up to a win win”.
