Sunday, September 23, 2012 marked the end of the “official” season for the The Creed speedball components of Creed Black and Creed White. This season they were in a 3 man league at Camelot Paintball (http://www.camelotpaintball.com/) in Chicopee, MA. Both teams played very well. The final tally showed Creed Black losing only 8 games the entire season and winning the league in points. Creed White played phenomenally and went undefeated for the day’s events, taking home first place on the day.
The tournament was run in 3-man style. There were 8 teams involved: Creed white, Creed black, Team 413 white, Team 413 black, Arch Angels, R3hab, Corporate Welfare and The Fiends. Each team played one another twice per event. The points accumulated and the winner of points on the day won the event. The total event point tally was done to determine who took the bacon for the season.
After the event final there were enough players milling about for some 5-man to be played for fun. The boys from The Creed got together and played a group from Springfield College. It was during this part of the day that Matt Rivard and Jacob Bailey (Both Creed gunmen) found themselves on snake side, laning the college kids. At one point Matt and Jacob, while crossed up, had a miss communication and Matt ended up shooting Jacob in the neck. His target was a Springfield College player but he ended up shooting Jacob. When approached about this fiasco at the end of the day all Matt had to say was, His (Jacob’s) neck was in my way. Nothing better than a little civil dysfunction among teammates!
Other highlights include Kyle Cardaropoli facing Team Rehab on his own as the rest of the trio had been shot out. He won the match thus securing the MVP for himself. Also of mention was the fact that during an event earlier in the season, the players from Creed Black played a series of points and completed each game in less than 20 seconds. This feat put them on Avid Paintball’s (http://avidpaintball.co/) video of the week!
Overall The Creed, as a whole, did more than we ever had before and expected. We played pick-up games, numerous big games and scenarios, hosted a clinic, developed and produced a successful scenario and successfully competed in a speedball league. We maintain we are a woodsball team but we have proven that our capabilities exceed the woods only.
Man, what a season!!!! Special thanks to Ag Paintball (www.agpaintball.com), Tom “Tomcat” Cunningham and The Catshack Reports (www.catshackreports.com), Citadel Information Group (http://www.citadel-information.com/) and MB Carpentry for being with us through the season. The Creed is looking forward to a very busy and rewarding 2013 and on. We hope to see you all out there on the fields of pain and glory. Until then, Guns up. Foes down. Creed!
