Who is Jami Hubbell?

Jami Hubbell is a small town southern belle from the sunny state of Florida. She’s a down to earth gunfighter that lost her way for a bit, but is now back to stay!!! “I am just a female paint slinger that loves the sport, and will do whatever she can to help this sport to grow, at home, and around the world! There is really nothing special about me; however I do surprise myself every day, and try to live my life to the fullest with a smile on my face!

The first time I was introduced to paintball was back in 99. I went to a 24 hour game in Fort Myers, Fl. with my husband at the time. I thought what a great opportunity to shoot my husband, without paying the price! At which point I then started talking to the girls that were there selling food, and drinks. They told me they were starting up an all female team and asked if I wanted a tryout. I had my tryout and made the team; little did I know what I was getting into. I didn’t know them or who they were in the sport, I was such a NOOB!!! After the first practices, Bea came up to me and told me “it’s in your blood now!“. I was a very, very lucky little girl! Who else can say she got coached by Todd & Tami Adamson, Bea Youngs and most of Aftershock? It was a golden opportunity to play on one of the first all female teams in the NPPL! I played 3, 5, and 10 men with Femme Fatales and owned a 10 man team, called Fallout and a little 5 men with the Royal Angels which was owned by Maurice Gibbs, we always were “Stayin Alive”. This brings us to now, where I play with the Bombshells, and run solo a lot! I play as much speed ball as I can and wherever I can. All my friends that do not play the sport know better than to ask me to go out on the weekends, because paintball is like a virus and only the field is the cure.

My main game plan is to find the one person who is sitting down wishing that they could be on the field enjoying the same experience as the people playing. In order to make the dream come true, I always make sure that I have at least 3 sets of full out gear to share. It’s not a lot, but it’s one persons dream and if I can help it come true, you know that’s where I wanna be. As for women in the sport, I feel that it will grow in time like any other sport, and as in every other sport, we girls are just perfecting our skills before we shine!

Catshack Reports: You stepped away from paintball for a while if I am correct, where have you been?

As time has passed, I have been asked this very question more often than I wanted to answer. But, in order to know the real Jhubb it is a question that has a painful answer. None the less, believing that honesty is all that I represent, the truth is… My husband at the time decided that I wasn’t to play ball anymore! The same guy that got me into it, was able to take me out of the sport that I fell in love with! For the 5 years that I was out, I tried to replace my true passion with anything from Muscle cars, wakeboarding, snowboarding, hunting, 4 wheelers, and the list goes on… But still nothing ever could replace the love that I had for paintball!

Catshack Reports: You are acting General for Northern Aggression in October … what are your thoughts? Who will be acting as your XO and what do you foresee the outcome to be?

As acting General for the aggression, my thoughts are quite simple… “The balls that you say I don’t have, will be hitting Hazard and Train square in the mask! But, in the end, people need to remember that paintball is a small community that always leaves on a friendly basis. As for my hugs and kisses (XO) I have put a call out to a Canuck that both Train and Hazard know, but as to whether or not he comes out of hiding to play, well that remains a mystery. I guess you will just have to come out and see for yourself!”
