PAINTBALL NEEDS YOU!

Dear Paintball Manufacturers, operators, and enthusiasts:

As you may or may not know California State government is looking to pass a new law that will affect paintball in California.  Bill SB798 is intended to eliminate an exemption to the current “imitation firearms” law.  Currently this exemption allows the Airsoft, BB, and Paintball industry to manufacture black markers/guns that could be considered “look-a-like” firearms; and depending who you talk to, anything that is black with a barrel is a “look-a-like” firearm.  A small group of manufacturers and operators have become aware of the law and have pulled together to begin fighting the passage of the law or having it amended to exclude paintball from Bill SB798. Undertakers paintball team raised $9,500 for the May 21st American Cancer Society Relay for Life event in Toms River, NJ. The team donated $4,200, which was the event’s single largest contribution, and ‘Takers’ Treasurer and Co-Captain Craig Rutledge assembled a team called the Rut Raiders which raised an additional $5,300 contributing significantly to the event’s grand total of $68,000 raised. The end of May marked a stepping stone for Paradise Paintball 3D, a FPS (First Person Shooter) game developed by CMune.  On the 30^th they announced that they had hit the 500,000 monthly users mark between Facebook and MySpace.  This number doesn’t include users who play the game via their Widget and the portal on CMune’s website.
