DSC_0983On an average fall day in 2007, Tom Tomcat Cunningham, Team Captain for the Glen Morris Mercenaries Paintball Team reported to work as a part time referee at a local indoor paintball establishment.

A birthday party arrived, a mixture of kids 12 to 13 years of age all wide eyed and excited to play paintball for the first time. Tom as always read them those all too important rules and insured everyone was properly equipped before leading the group into the arena. Teams were split and each group took up their positions at opposite ends of the CQB style indoor and then the whistle blew to signal game on. Promptly both groups of kids proceeded to turn and jump into the furthest rear bunker at opposite ends of the room. So began a half hour or more of shooting wildly at each other from some distance without anyone hitting much of anything with the exception perhaps of an unfortunate referee on hand.
